Baked beansSave the date: The South Central Federation of Labor’s Committee on Political Education (COPE) will hold its 56th annual Bean Feed dinner from 6 p.m. until 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at the Madison Labor Temple (1602 S. Park Street).

SCFL LogoA message from South Central Federation of Labor President Kevin Gundlach:

Our work in our neighborhoods doesn’t end with the election. We are in this for the long run. At seven in the morning on Wednesday, volunteers were already calling to ask what we’re working on next. And later that evening, union organizers and activists were calling workers about their union locals, the issues they face, and the importance of getting involved.

Please join us next week as we review our hard work this election cycle, to appreciate the many things we’ve done well, and evaluate where we can improve. There will be a potluck and election debriefing at 6 p.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at the Madison Labor Temple. For additional information about this event, call (608) 256-5111.

Wiready Workers VoteThe South Central Federation of Labor (SCFL) is hosting a gubernatorial debate watch party at 7 p.m. on Friday, October 10, 2014 at the Madison Labor Temple, 1602 South Park Street.

Organizers invite members of AFT Local 243 to “Join union brothers and sisters and community members as we watch Mary Burke bring the heat on Scott Walker’s failed promises to Wisconsin workers.” There will be refreshments and plenty of fun.

Prior to the debate, join fellow union members for door-to-door canvassing walks in the local neighborhood: Take action to support Mary Burke by talking with voters about issues that are important to working people.

If you plan to attend this event, please RSVP online.
